On Friday, August 30, 2024 at The Hospice of The Chesapeake in Waldorf, Maryland, Donza Milstead peacefully transitioned to eternal life.

Donza was born June 16,1933 in Indian Head, Md to John H. Penny Sr. and Annie Violet Queen Penny.

She attended Charles County Public Schools and graduated from Pomonkey High School in Pomonkey, MD Donza worked at several jobs. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, D.C. and retired after 30 years of service.

Donza married Royce Milstead on January 6, 1951, and from this union two sons were born, Joseph Larry Milstead and Charles Kenneth Milstead. During their early years of marriage Royce and Donza made their home in Marbury, MD.  In 1960 he built his home in Rison on Stump Neck Road where they lived the rest of their lives.

Donza had many hobbies such as Fishing, Traveling the East Coast in a Winnebago Motor Home, and taking care of family and friends. She was best known for her baking lemon Meringue pies for friends and family who were sick or just because they loved her pies.

Donza was preceded in death by her parents John Houston Penny Sr. and Violet Penny, husband of 67 years Royce Milstead; son Charles K. Milstead; granddaughters Renee Alston and Kendra Booth; two sisters Eula Dunn and Rubina Boschulte; one brother John Houston Penny Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Joseph "Larry" Milstead; daughter-in-law, Doris Milstead; grandchildren, Larry A. Yates, Joseph E. and Jomeika E. Milstead; great- grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, and Sierra Savoy, Ricky Neale, Alonzo Yates and Amani Bryan (Dustin); great-great grandchildren, Zuri Savoy, Cencere Savoy, Ariyah and Leo Bryan and Zen Savoy; brother, Oliver Penny; goddaughters, Jacqueline Baker and Jomeika Milstead; sister-in-law, Estelle E. Penny;  and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
