TEMPLETON, DONNELL (AGE 53) of Pisgah, Maryland
Donnell Lee Templeton, the son of the late Tom and Clara Templeton, was born on June 7, 1960 in Houston, TX. Surrounded by his family, Donnell was called home to glory on July 25, 2013 at his home in Pisgah MD.
Donnell was united in holy matrimony to childhood sweetheart Pamela on January 4, 1985, from this union two sons were born.
Donnell was educated in the Charles County Public School System and graduated from Lackey High School in 1978. As a very young man, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member all of his adult life.
In 1978 Donnell began his career with an internship in the Charles County Government. He became a full time employee the next year within the Department of Public Works where he was an Equipment Maintenance Technician 2#. After 34 years of service Donnell retired in July 2013. In addition, he maintained a part time position with Docs Crab House for 15 years, where he enjoyed cooking crabs, ribs and chicken. He considered the people at the crab house and Big B's his second family.
Donnell often referred to himself in the third person as "daddy;" we, who knew him best, believe this was because his proudest achievement/accomplishment was being a father to his two sons, Donnell Jr. and Michael. Donnell was a devoted husband and father and he often spoke of wonderful memories they created as a united family.
Donnell was a race car enthusiast; he spent many hours working on his 1973 Mach 1 Mustang.
Donnell leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 28 years, Pamela and sons, Donnell, Jr. and Michael. Six siblings, Gordenia Cavanaugh, Constance Morten, Tommy, Cedale, Frankie and Nathan (Karen) Templeton. God daughter Tia Brown, in laws Beverly Manning (Ronnie), Sarletta, Fred, Gary, Fontalla, Butler, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Viewing, 6 to 9pm, Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640 and from 10am until time of Service, 11am, Friday, August 2, 2013 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 2645 Marshall Hall Road, Bryans Road, Maryland 20616. Interment,Church Cemetery.
