IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Malcom
Dyson
November 14, 1951 – August 25, 2023
DYSON, DONALD (AGE 71) OF CLINTON, MARYLAND
Donald Malcolm Dyson, known to many as Don, was born to the late Cora Dyson and Wilbur Gray on November 14, 1951. Don departed his earthly life on August 25, 2023.
Don spent his childhood in Crew, Virginia where he was lovingly known to his family as Caky boy. At the age of 10, Don and his family moved to Southeast, Washington D.C. Don was educated in the D.C. public school system and graduated from Spingarn High School. After graduation, Don worked hard to save money for his dream car; a yellow Grand Prix. This car was his pride and joy; he washed and buffed it weekly, which led him to meet his late, first wife, Denise Smith. Denise didn't like him at the time and would throw dirt on his yellow Grand Prix every time he washed it. That feud blossomed into a loving marriage and to that union, three loving sons were born; Duane, Derrick, and Dominic.
Having a growing family, Don sought stable employment and found it at the Marriott Corporation. Don enjoyed his career with the Marriott, as a Receiving Clerk. He retired after 25 years of service. Don Dyson knew the lord; he and his late wife, Denise, were founding members of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Don answered God's call by serving on the Deacon Board for over 20 years. Don also joined the Transport Ministry to help church members without transport attend services. Don became a widower in 1998 after 25 years of marriage to Denise. After the loss of his first wife, Don spent a lot of his time at Good Shepherd becoming active in prayer meetings, Bible Study, the Feeding Ministry, and singing in the male choir.
Don met his late, second wife, Linda Walker at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Don and Linda dated for a few years and married in 2011, from this union Don gained a bonus daughter, Charlette and two bonus sons, Maurice and Henry. Don and Linda spent many wonderful years together living in Clinton, Maryland. Linda took good care of Don when his health started to decline and would visit him daily when he was transferred to Pineview Manor Extended Care for his healthcare needs. Linda offered her loving support to Don and would stay some days until she was asked to leave for the night. Linda passed away in 2020. While at Pineview, Don would get visits from his family, church family, and friends. Don looked forward to and appreciated every visit and call. Don was a kind-hearted jokester, he loved to make people smile and always had a smile on his face. Don loved to fish and cook and he was a good cook. One time he fried chicken for a summer camp that was so delicious, some of the kids broke into the kitchen to eat the leftovers. Don loved spending time with his family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Dyson, father, Wilbur Gray, first wife, Denise Dyson, second wife, Linda Dyson, two sons; Duane, and Derrick Dyson, four brothers; Preston, Rudolph, Randy, Mervin Dyson and one sister, Eleanor Mason.
Don Dyson Leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Sister Shirley Phillips, one son, Dominic (Nicole) Dyson, Bonus Daughter, Charlette Walker; two bonus sons, Maurice, and Henry Walker III, one Grandson, Devonte Dyson; four granddaughters, DeAnna, DeSiree, Denise, and Liliana Dyson and six great grandchildren along with three bonus grandchildren; Dajia, Tiara, and Ricardo, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
