Obituary

Diana Thompson-Johnson (Age 56) of Bryans Road, Maryland

Diana Thompson-Johnson, "Lady D," was born the youngest of four children to Dorothy Thompson-Goodwin and Lloyd Thompson on July 30, 1964, in Darlington, South Carolina.  At age eight, she moved with her family to Washington, D.C. where she studied in the District of Columbia public schools system.

Diana was vibrant, outspoken, and always the LIFE OF THE PARTY, and if you met her, you would love her instantly.  Her favorite movies to watch were, Selena and Grease .  Diana also loved the Dallas Cowboys. You could always catch her in her favorite color, red, hence the red lipstick and hair, her signature look.  She loved attending events with her husband and keeping the dance floor hot. She loved socializing with family and friends whether it was over the phone or in person. She had a passion for interior design and caring for her plants.  Her outgoing personality allowed her to excel in the hospitality field for over thirty years.

Diana married the love of her life, Thomas "Rick" Johnson. The two have shared thirty- four beautiful years together.  On August 10, 1992, the two were blessed with their daughter, Akia "Kii Kii" Thompson. They share a son, Jarius "Jet" (Zakiya) Hayman, and six grandchildren (Jalynn, Taiylor, Jordan, Bryceson, Zephan Hayman, and Aniya Harrigan).

Diana departed this life on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her brother whom she loved dearly, Terry "Chubby" Thompson, her sister Betty, (preceded her in childhood death), step-father, George Goodwin, and daughter-in-law, Shalonda Hayman.

She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Thomas "Rick" Johnson; daughter, Akia "Kii Kii" Thompson; son Jarius "Jet" (Zakiya) Hayman; six grandchildren (Jalynn, Taiylor, Jordan, Bryceson, Zephan Hayman, and Aniya Harrigan); beloved mother, Dorothy Thompson-Goodwin, father Lloyd Thompson; mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Leonard Johnson, II; sister, Barbara (Allan) Cunningham, sisters-in-law, Kelita (Timothy) Johnson and Remeta (Micheal) Johnson-Williams and brother-in-law, Leonard (Mia) Johnson.  Diana is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends all of whom she loved dearly.
