The Obituary
DeWayne Israel Newman departed this life on August 10, 2012 at the Fort Washington Medical Center, Fort Washington, Maryland. He was born October 24, 1971 in Washington, D.C. to Francis Milton and Ann Elizabeth (Lewis)Newman.
He grew up in Accokeek, Maryland and attended Clinton Grove Elementary School, Eugene Burroughs Junior High School and graduated from Gwynn Park High School.
His hobbies included, dirt bike riding, car shows, traveling and crab feasts with family and friends. His favorite pastime was spending time with his friends at B&G Tavern watching the Dallas Cowboys football games.
DeWayne worked many jobs trying to find his niche. He worked for B&J Carryout and the National Park Service. He continued his education and gained additional skills in the elevator industry. DeWayne was employed by the United States Capitol as an elevator technician and he loved his occupation.
DeWayne was an all-around beautiful person who made friends wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. Lewis, Joseph M. and Mary A. Newman; uncle and godfather, James C. Lewis.
DeWayne leaves many to mourn his absence; his loving mother and father, Milton and Ann Newman; brother, Keith; grandmother, Elizabeth Lewis Davis; godmother, Edna Harris; a very devoted cousin, Terry Branson; (play sister) Karen Becker and her children, a host of aunts, uncles, great-aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends, especially Willie Brown, Jeff Goslee, Daniel Dyer and Jimmy Edelen.
His time with us was far too short but he made the best of the time God gave him on this earth.
