DERRICK MAURICE DYSON, AGE 42, OF WALDORF, MARYLAND

Derrick Maurice Dyson was born on April 20, 1979, in Washington, DC to Denise (deceased) and Donald Dyson.  Derrick departed his earthly life on November 3, 2021, peacefully, at his home.

Derrick was the second of three boys.  He grew up in the DMV area and was educated in the Prince George's County School System and graduated from Largo High Schoo in 1998.

Derrick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life at Good Shephard Baptist Church in Oxon Hill, Maryland.  Derrick loved to sing, he was a part of several choirs and was also involved in the Feeding Ministry, Outreach Ministry and many other works at Good Shephard Baptist Church.

Derrick started his work with the Federal Government in 2003 through CACI.  Derrick worked as a Document Management Analyst with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice since 2007.  Derrick was passionate about his job and liked knowing he was helping others.  Over the years, Derrick grew very close to his coworkers and considered many of them family.

Derrick loved those he was close to, dearly, and was always willing to lend a listening ear.  Derrick was a beautiful soul, and he touched many hearts.  Derrick loved to sing, dance and he also loved animals and nature.  Derrick was born with a green thumb and had many plants, herbs, fruits, and vegetables.

Derrick is survived by his father, Donald Dyson, one brother, Dominic Dyson (Nicole), bonus sister, Charlette Walker, aunts, Willette Sherriod, Shirley Phillips and Donice Dyson, nieces and nephews, Devonte Dyson, DeAnna Dyson, DeSiree Dyson, Denise Dyson, Lilyana Wallace Dajia Gaines, Tiara Gaines and Ricardo Gaines; close friends, Carla Hawkins and Jeffrey Smith, Jr., and a host of family and friends that held a very special place in his heart.

On Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. a link will be placed below to live stream the service.
