Delores Hope Thomas, 48 of Port Tobacco, MD, departed this life on Monday, June 18, 2012, at Civista Medical Center, LaPlata, MD.
On May 5, 1964, Delores Hope Thomas was born to Alvin Louis Thomas and the late Florence Mary Thomas in Marbury, MD. Lois, as she was called by family and friends, was educated in the Charles County School System and graduated from McDonough High School.
Lois was a caring and compassionate person as well as a devoted mother. She enjoyed listening to the Oldies & Goodies 89.3 WPFW radio station on Saturday's and Gospel music on Sunday mornings. She was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her dog "Cooper".
She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence M. Thomas; two brothers, George and Russell Brown; and one sister, Jean Brown.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory her son Kevin (Chunky)Spriggs; two daughters LaKeta and LaKeisha Cooper; her father Alvin L. Thomas; devoted and loving companion Calvin (Jake) Cooper; two granddaughters Kulissa and Ka'Mya Spriggs; one grandson Kevin Spriggs, Jr.; two sisters Mary Jackson (Edward) and Florence Jackson (Leroy); two brothers Alvin Brown (Ella) and Rudolph Brown (Janet); a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 7865 Port Tobacco Road, Port Tobacco, MD. The Rev. Robert J. Kosty will be offering the Mass. Interment, Church Cemetery.
