Delores Marion Price of White Plains, MD transitioned January 31, 2023.
A Time to Be Born: Delores M. Price who was affectionately called "Lois" by her family, was the youngest of a set of twins born in Washington, D.C. to the late Sidney JF Hemsley and Ella M. Hemsley.
A Time to Be Educated: Delores received her formal education in the D.C. Public School system, graduating from Armstrong Adult Education Center and furthered her education at the U.S.D.A. Graduate School and the University of the District of Columbia.
A Time to Embrace: Delores was blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Angela L. Ford and Cheryl R. Ford-Johnson. In 2001, she met who would one day become her husband, Clinton L. Price. They confirmed their love for one another and were married in 2012, and he has been by her side for this journey. Along with her two step-children, Tonya Bakers and Allen Johnson, Jr., she opened her heart to three more step-children, Jackie Nance, Clinton Williams and William Price.
A Time to Serve: Raised in a Christian home, Delores loved the Lord. At an early age, she accepted Christ and dedicated her life to serving God and was baptized in Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Washington, D.C., by the late Rev. Lemon White, Pastor. She later moved her membership to the Fort Foote Baptist Church in Fort Washington, MD and served faithfully for over 28 years. She loved being at the Fort and was eager to do whatever she could to feel like she was a part of a growing church. She attended the Adult II Sunday School Class, was a member of the Fellowship and Social Committee by serving the bereaved families during Repasts and helped prepare food for other church functions, including the CDC and Vacation Bible School. She was a dedicated member of the Senior Usher Board, the Kingdom Women's Ministry, and the Primetimer's Ministry. She was a loving, kind and generous person to everyone she met. Her quiet demeanor and sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her.
A Time to Build and Work: After a brief career at the U.S. Navy Department, Delores transferred to the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare which is now the Department of Education, where she found her niche in the General Counsel's Office as an Ethics Program Specialist. Even though she loved her job she was very happy to begin a new phase in her life, and after rendering over 37 years in the Federal Government, she finally decided to retire on January 4, 2004.
A Time to Play: Delores loved to bowl, she took swimming lessons, piano lessons, tennis lessons, and she enjoyed spending time with family. She had a special talent for baking.
