Delano Leon Johnson was born on June 6, 1942 in Chapel Hill, Maryland to the late Christine Brent and Charles E. Johnson. Delano entered into eternal peace on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
He was educated in Prince George's County public schools and graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in 1960. Delano would later enlist in the United States Air Force 1964, serving in the Vietnam War.
After serving in the military, Delano held various career positions with different organizations over the course the years.
Delano also known as "Duck" by family and friends enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and visiting Maryland International Raceway. His most favorite pastime was to sit outside with family and friends, reminiscing about the "good old times" growing up in Chapel Hill.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Charles E. Johnson; Mother, Christine Brent; Stepfather, Gerald Brent; grandson, Donovan Wright; 10 Aunts, Emma, Sheila, Isabella, Leola, Gwendolyn, Katie, Mamie, Pearl, Lena, and Elizabeth; 7 Uncles, Rudolph, Earl, William, George, Abraham, Herman and William Johnson; and his favorite cousins Rodney and Larry.
Left to cherish his memories is his granddaughter Davonna Wright, three special and devoted cousins Doris, Dyson, Maxie Harris and Barbara Hall; A host of other family members and dear friends.
