Dede Nadia Annick Medetongnon was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 26, 2026, passing peacefully at UM Charles Regional Medical Center.
Nadia was born on August 26, 1977, in Porto-Novo, Benin, to the late Bernard Medetongnon and Anne-Marie Anago. She grew up in Benin, completing her education and graduating in Cotonou. Nadia spent much of her early life in her beloved homeland, where she launched her professional career as the Head Accountant for a microfinance credit institution in Come, Benin.
In February 2011, Nadia immigrated to the United States. She and her family initially settled in Suitland, Maryland, where she worked as a Sales Associate at 7-Eleven and quickly established herself as a vital, cherished member of her community.
Later, Nadia and her family moved to White Plains, Maryland. True to her spirit, she brought the same warmth, devotion, and kindness to her new neighborhood. Guided by a heart for service, Nadia earned her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), bringing comfort to those in need. She was also an active and faithful member of her local church community.
In 2023, Nadia expanded her professional horizons by becoming a Certified Licensed Life Insurance Agent with the WFG Group. She found immense joy in traveling across the country attending annual conventions in Las Vegas, Florida, and beyond. Most recently, Nadia dedicated her time and compassionate heart to working with special needs children, a calling that brought out her natural patience and empathy.
Above all, Nadia cherished the quiet, simple moments spent with her family. Nothing gave her more joy than gathering in the master bedroom with her husband and daughters to watch Nigerian movies and their favorite Netflix shows together.
