Debra Denise Thomas (Age 59) of Oxon Hill, Maryland

On Sunday, October 25, 2020, Debra Denise Thomas surrounded by family, peacefully transitioned to eternal life at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton Maryland.

She was born on March 5, 1961 to the late Elnora Marie Jupiter Chase and the late Hillery Joseph Thomas, Sr., of Newburg, Maryland.  In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her siblings, Estelle I. Thomas, Pedro C. Thomas and William P. Thomas.

She attended the public schools of Charles County.  After graduating from LaPlata Senior High School, she attended Charles County Community College, then started a thirty-year career in the Federal Government with the Department of Interior with her last tour of duty at the Department of Treasury.

Debra was best known as "Debbie," she was a member of Shiloh Community United Methodist Church.  She had a quiet spirit and her unquestionable faith in God was monumental, her love and loyalty for her family was boundless.  She was highly intelligent, an avid reader, enjoyed and maintained a healthy lifestyle.  She was also a great debater due to her affinity for politics.

With loving memories Debra is survived by three brothers, Hillery J. Thomas, Jr. (Sharon), David C. Thomas (Robin) and Nathan P. Thomas, Sr. (Maggy); three sisters, Cindy P. Thomas, April S. Thomas and Nanette P. Thomas.  A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until time of Service, 11:00 am, Thursday, November 5, 2020, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
