IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Ann
Coleman
November 24, 1954 – January 11, 2022
Deborah Ann Coleman at age sixty-seven, transitioned from this life to eternal life very, early morning on January 11, 2022. What a shock to us all because she left so suddenly, but it was great joy for Deborah who had lived to live again with the Lord.
Born in Elyria, Ohio on November 24, 1954 to the proud parents Willie and Louise Coleman. Deborah attended and graduated from Elyria High School. She was very active playing soft ball and perfected the skill of Billiards. She was an avid lover of all sports, especially college football. She received Jesus as Lord and Savior during her teenage years, at the Original Glorious Apostolic Church, under Bishop Jimmy Smith who was affectionately called "Uncle Jimmy".
Deborah joined the United States Army in November 1975, after training and classes she worked as a Military Police Officer. Her tour of duty took her to Germany and she loved the country. After returning to the states she was stationed in Fort Richie, Maryland until she was honorably discharged in November, 1978.
Seeking to start afresh Deborah moved to Maryland and looked for employment as a security officer. In the meantime, she enrolled in The Maryland Barbering School in Brooklyn, Maryland and received her license to be a Master Barber. She has been cutting hair many years before her formal training. Combining self-training and professional skills, Deborah Ann Coleman was one of the best barbers in the DC, Maryland and Virginia (DVM) area. Her clientele consisted of men, women and children, specifically many pastors from this area. Her barbering skills opened a door for her at Arundel College as a Barber/Stylist Instructor, teaching incarcerated adult students at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women.
Deborah became a member of The Bible Prayer Time Faith Ministry, Inc. in 1986 and was appointed Treasurer of the ministry. She acknowledged her call into the ministry, went to school to prepare herself for the work ahead as a teacher of the Gospel and a Prophet. After a few years, she was ordained as an Elder in the Lord's church and was affectionately called Elder Deborah.
Elder Deborah had an insatiable desire to help people, to guide them to a better way of life and to impart wisdom of instructions and choices. To further do that, she obtained her real estate license in 1996 and worked for Kustom Homes Real Estate until 1999. Elder Deborah returned to Elyria, Ohio to care for her mother and while there she became a licensed insurance agent. She had also worked for Homeland Security FEMA, in Washington, DC. Lastly regarding employment, Elder Deborah became a Small Business Consultant for DirectLink Capital Corporation.
Elder Deborah will be sorely miss! Her words of wisdom that she would give, the acts of kindness she performed and caring for her brothers and sister with a big heart of love, will forever be remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Louise Coleman, her sister Daisy Vicky Hill, and her brother James Coleman.
She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories two brothers Willie Coleman, Jr. (Fanny), Anthony Coleman, her loving Auntie Lillian Statoum, nephew Timothy Hill, niece Lisa Hill; Godchildren: Rodney Garnet, Vaughn McDuffie, Kieca D. Cole and Michael D. Surratt, additional nephews, nieces and a host of other family members and friends.
