IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah
Carter
November 7, 1948 – March 17, 2022
Deborah Smith Carter, 73, of Waldorf, Maryland.
Deborah Aurelia Smith Carter, "Debbie," was born November 7, 1948. She treasured every day being a mother and grandmother to her daughter, Aurelia (A.D.), son, Lorenzo and granddaughter, Car'ree who made up the entirety of her world until she passed away on March 17, 2022.
Debbie received her education in the Alexandria City Public School System. She was a high school cheerleader and an athlete in track and field and softball. After graduation, Debbie began working as a civil servant in the Federal Government, where she worked for 25 years before retiring.
She truly loved her family. She cared for them, protected them, worried about them, cheered for them, corrected them, and forgave them because she loved them so much.
Debbie will be desperately missed by all those she left behind. She was beautiful, one of a kind, classy and sassy, to be loved by her was truly a blessing. This unexpected loss breaks our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Cleo Slaughter, Sr., sister Rena Jarrett and two brothers, David Jr. and Gregory Slaughter.
Debbie is survived by her two children, Aurelia Thrift and Lorenzo Carter, granddaughter, Car'ree Thrift, Aunt Joyce P. Jackson, niece, Michelle Slaughter, and a host of cousins and many friends.
