Deadra Bowman

August 10, 1963 — April 5, 2026

Indian Head

Deadra Bowman of Indian Head, MD transitioned April 5, 2026.

Deadra Bowman, affectionately known as “Peetcy,” transitioned to glory suddenly at home on April 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Born on August 10, 1963, in Washington, DC, Deadra’s vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She graduated from Central High School in 1983, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life enriched with dedication and joy. For 33 years, Deadra served with pride and commitment as a Mail Handler at the US Post Office, a career that reflected her strong work ethic and reliability.

Deadra was a woman of deep faith and boundless generosity. She loved God deeply and found great joy in sharing her belief in Jesus with those around her. Always ready to give and support those in need, she had a unique gift for turning even the toughest moments into moments of humor and light. Her laughter was infectious — truly the life of every gathering.

Family was everything to Deadra. She cherished time spent at home, especially family cookouts! She would have everything set and ready for fun - but the cooking didn’t begin until “Big Sis” arrived. These moments were filled with warmth, conversation, and frequent bouts of laughter. Her love for her nieces and nephews was profound, and she made it a priority to keep in close touch with them all. Left to treasure her memory is a host of devoted nieces and nephews who felt the depth of her affection daily.

Deadra also enjoyed simple pleasures that brought continual happiness — whether it was savoring pizza, delighting in good food, or indulging in vanilla cake with chocolate icing. A Dallas Cowboys fan to the core, her admiration for Tony Dorsett (#33) revealed her spirited love for sports. She took great pride in decorating her own home, making it a reflection of her joyful and welcoming personality.

She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Darryell Price and Milton Price; her sister, Barbara Cromer (Kendall); and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Her husband, Dwayne Bowman, whom she married in 1989, preceded her in death in 2013.

Deadra’s sudden transition to glory leaves an irreplaceable void, but her light shines on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, family, laughter, and love will forever inspire those who were blessed to be part of her extraordinary life.
