D'Armond Giovonni Brooks, Jr. (Lil D), 31, departed this earthly life unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2017.
D'Armond was born on November 17, 1985 to D'Armond, Sr. and Lolita Brooks at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. He was the oldest of four children.
D'Armond, a military child, attended Prince George's County Public Schools and graduated from Friendly High School in 2003. After graduation he joined the United States Navy; graduating one of the top in his class from Grate Lakes Naval Academy. After his term in the Navy he worked for Prince George's County Public Schools. However, having creative hands for art and his barbering skills, he decided to enroll into the Hair Academy where he received his license as a Barber. Although he loved being a barber, he still wanted to show his skills as a talented artist and loved drawing. He started a side business as a Tattoo Artist in 2016.
D'Armond was loved by many, especially his family. He had a gift that everyone who knew him loved, being a comedian. He loved spending time with family, especially his cousins. He was one who always kept you laughing. His most precious memories were interacting with everyone at the "Annual Family and Friends Cookout." He always told his parents how much he enjoyed himself, and that they should never stop sponsoring it.
Leaving to share his memories are his father and mother D'Armond "D" Sr. and Lolita Brooks, one sister YaLeta Brooks-Roundtree (Antonio); two brothers: Kendall (Caila), and Keivon. three nephews: Antwan James Jr., Kendall Brooks-Blue, and Adrian Roundtree; Grandparents: F. Louise Jackson, Flora B Stafford, John Brooks, Juanita Robinson-Bey, and Eugene Wooden; four Great-Aunts: Helen Brooks, Josephine Jackson, Earlene Thompson (Dwight), and Patsy Bucksell; four Great-Uncles: Harry Brooks (Kathleen), Frank Smallwood (Sheila), Anthony Reeves (Tootie), and Roger Reeves; six aunts: Roberta White (Eugene), Tina Hester (Christopher), Deborah Boston (Ramon), Sheila Wooden, Michelle Brooks-Powell (Wayne), Chiquita Robinson; five uncles: Michael Lane, Pete Robinson (Racina), Alturow Robinson, Ronnie Brooks (Allison), Chris Brooks (Natasha), Loyal Friends: John Lewis III, Monique Francois, Aaron Ruffin, Danielle Green. Honorary Aunts and Uncles: Evans Ray Jr., Anthony Surratte, Felipe Harlaque (Nakiya), Beverly Lanier, Angela Jones, John Richardson, and a host of relatives and friends.
