OBITUARY

Daniel Vincent Holton, Sr.'s spirit departed his earthly body and entered eternal life on January 17, 2025.  He was the son of Edward and Elsie (Woodland) Holton and the ninth of twelve children born on December 5, 1947.

Growing up, Daniel attended St. Mary's County schools and at a young age was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. He loved the Lord. In 1967 Daniel was drafted into the United States Army. During his service, he was deployed to serve in the Vietnam War for one year. He also received numerous awards including a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars. His final rank was a Sergeant before receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1970. Afterward, he worked at Indian Head Navy Base (known as Naval Surface Warfare Center). He later transferred to Patuxent River Naval Air Test Center until retiring in 1999.

Danny joined Labourers and Soldiers for Christ Inc. in 1978 and became the Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Bishop Alvin Holton, Sr. and served until 1982.  He then moved his membership to Unity of Love Praise Temple Church (UOLPT) under the leadership of Bishop James C. and Miriam Bell. In 2001, Daniel became the Assistant Pastor and later became Pastor in 2003.  He remained at UOLPT until the Lord called him to separate for the work, He had called him to do.

In 2010 Pastor Danny resigned his positions and he and his family set forth to do the work the Lord had called them to do.  On January 2, 2011, "Experiencing Life In Christ" Ministry also known as ELIC Ministry was born.  In August of 2011, ELIC became a part of the Manna From On High Ministries family and was accepted with open arms. On April 22, 2014, Pastor Danny was installed as Pastor of ELIC under the leadership of Bishop Arthur Brown (Manna From On High Ministries).

Danny loved his family, preaching and teaching the word of God, football, and cooking ribs.

Daniel was married to his beloved, Ethel, for 47 years and was a father to six children. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Chaplain, friend, and most of all a Man of God. He was preceded in eternal life by his parents Edward and Elsie Holton, brothers Emmanuel, Kelsey, Otis, Levern, Percy, Sylvester, Alvin and sister Irene Ashton.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Ethel, daughters Soniece Holton, Margorie Johnson (Francis), and Jasmine; sons Jerome Brown, Daniel Jr. (Dawn), and Jonathan (April); Brother Larry Holton (LaVonia); two sisters Mary Bowman and Jackie Cole (Benny); seventeen grandchildren; Tiaundra, Porche, Deaundra, Demara, Aniya, Evan, Andrew, JaRah-Marquay, Savannah, Shamia, Justyce, Autumn, Keith, Samiyah, Steven; five great grands: Chole, Jaden, Symphony, Ka'Mora and Tynia; a very special aunt Ruth Barnes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
