Obituary

Crystaline Lowery, 63, of Oxon Hill, Maryland.

On April 21, 2018, Crystaline heard God's call and went home to spend her eternal life with Him.

Crystaline, affectionately known as Cris, was born Tuesday, December 7, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, North Carolina to Roscoe Lowery and Katie (Duncan) Lowery.

Shortly after graduating from Parkwood High School, Crystaline entered the United States Navy from Monroe, North Carolina on August 3, 1973 and was honorably discharged, August 2, 1977 from Headquarters, Naval District, Washington, DC.  She served 6 years; 4 Active Duty and 2 Reserve Duty.  She continued her service with the Federal Government for 26 years and retired from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) as a Supply Technician Specialist. After retirement, Crystaline spent her time with family and friends. She met and married Michael A. King in June of 1988. She enjoyed watching sports, playing Keno and Black Jack. She also enjoyed listening to soul music and spending time with her beloved dogs, Kurious and Johnny.

Crystaline was loved by many people, especially her nieces and sisters-in-law.

Crystaline was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Zander Lowery and Katie Lee (Duncan) Lowery; brothers, Crawford Lowery and Roscoe Lowery, Jr.; sisters, Mildred Bell, Ernestine Lowery Moore, Shirley Ann Hopkins and Brenda Lowery Moore; mother-in-law, Margaret E. King and father-in-law, Harrison V. King.

Crystaline leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Michael King; brothers, Kenneth Lowery (Millie) and Zander Donnel Lowery; brothers-in-law; Harold King (Patsy), Daryl King and Herman Moore (Ernestine); sisters-in-law, Octavia Butler (Wallace), D'borah Hart (James), Janice King, Michelle Washington (George),  Nora Young, Minnie Lee Lowery (Roscoe, Jr.), Millie Lowery (Ken) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Viewing 6:00 p.m. until time of Service, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018,  in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.

Interment, 10:15 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
