~A Journey of Life~

Her Story

A Faithful…Child of God ~ Mother ~ Grandmother ~ Sister ~ Aunt ~ Cousin ~ Friend ~ Colleague

Crystal Hart Neal, also known as "Missy," was the only daughter of three children born to the late Jeanette Fisher. She was born on July 21 st , 1964 and entered the presence of her Heavenly Father on April 4 th , 2021—Resurrection Sunday.  What a beautiful day God chose to call His daughter home.

Crystal loved God, trusted His Word, and actively lived it out. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden. She was an integral part of The Divine Discipleship for Sisters Ministry (DDS) that develops dynamic women to live Christ-centered lives through biblical and practical applications that embody the heart of Christ, and that she did!  Crystal was encouraged by her favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ."  She also believed and lived out Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." She encouraged others to focus on "The Light" amid their trials, knowing God would work it together for good.  She exemplified life, love, laughter, and a compelling faith in seeing the best in everything—even loss.  She could calm others with just a few words— " Hey Baby" or "That's small things to a Giant God!" Her gentle and kind spirit made everyone feel comfortable in her presence.  Crystal was an amazingly strong woman who played a special role in the lives of everyone who knew her.

Missy was raised in Pisgah, Maryland, and graduated Lackey High School in 1982 where she actively participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).  After high school, Crystal earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Crystal had 37 years of Federal Government service and served as a Program Analyst/Accountant with the Defense Intelligence Agency for 34 years.  During that time, she made several lasting contributions and was known for her remarkable work ethic.  Always the first to arrive at work, Crystal was a diligent yet humble worker, who never sought praise or attention, though she always did an exceptional job. Everyone she worked with thought highly of her.  As a result, she received recognition and multiple awards for her excellent service and expertise.  Dedication, commitment, and integrity are all words that embodied her character.  She was a valued member of the Defense Intelligence Agency family, and she will always be remembered for her willingness to go the extra mile.

Missy was a servant at heart.  She served as a notary, faithful volunteer at the Malcom X School Community, a beloved neighbor who could always be depended upon to lend a helping hand as well as supported many charities.  She had an infectious laugh that brought a smile to your face and joy to your heart.  In her free time, Crystal enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, knitting, and listening to Gospel, R&B, and Rap music.  Her favorite pastime, however, was loving on her grandkids and being a proud mother of her two beautiful children. She always encouraged them to love God, continuously learn, and strive for black excellence! Crystal—a strong woman of faith, caring and beloved family woman—will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Crystal leaves to cherish her precious memories and carry on her beautiful legacy of love, her two children , Dennis Clark and Iesha Clark ; step-son, Bryant Neal Jr .; three grandchildren, Semaj Clark, Semar Clark, and Seylah Clark ; one brother, Barrett Hart ; one niece, Tiara Milstead ; an uncle; Randolph Hart, Jr .; a goddaughter, Hayley Washington ; Cousins , Kim Hart, Kin Hart, Monica Fortune, Randolph Hart III and Sanika Butler ; childhood/life-long best friends, Catherine Dunnington-Perry and Iris Rogers ; as well as a host of other close family and friends.  Crystal was preceded in death by her Mother, Jeanette Fisher and younger Brother, Jonathan Fisher ; her Grandparents , Randolph Hart, Sr. and Louise Hart; and her Aunt, Margaret Pauline Hart Thomas.

"Yes, a limb has fallen from our family tree, but do not grieve for me. Remember my best times, my laughter, my life's song, and the beautiful life I lived while I was strong.  If I live in your hearts, I will never die."

Your Heavenly Angel,

Crystal "Missy" Hart Neal
