Cornell Terrill Posey of Nanjemoy, Maryland transitioned September 7, 2023.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Cornell T. Posey entered into eternal rest at home.
Cornell Terrill Posey, fondly known as (Fella) was born December 14, 1971, in Washington, D.C. to Kerry C. Posey and Ann L. Posey. Cornell was the third oldest of the four children. Cornell (Fella) was educated in the public-school system of Charles County, Maryland graduating from Lackey High School in 1990.
Cornell worked as a roofer. He attended Electrical Engineering school Local IBEW# 26 and graduated as a licensed Electrician. He created a nonprofit organization called "People Serving People" in an effort to help to address the needs of families in his community that lacked access to indoor plumbing and water. Cornell had a heart for service and was able to recognize the needs within his community. He devoted many years as an active community activist. He was well known to the community at large and to the Charles County Government Representatives. His agenda was always about helping others and serving the people. In recent years he entered the Political World by running for Charles County Commissioner for District #3 in 2014 and in 2022 for Charles County Delegate. In 2001, he became an entrepreneur acting as a General Contractor on various projects throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
In his early 30's Cornell attended Victory in Jesus Ministries, in Whiteville, N. C under the leadership of Apostle Tracy Troy, where he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized. He recently rededicated his life at Oil of Joy Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor Antoinette Barber.
His favorite pastime was watching the Washington Commanders. He was a diehard fan. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and especially his Mom and Dad. It was one of his greatest joys to go on vacations with his son, parents and siblings. He loved to travel by car throughout the area, as he considered himself an exceptional driver. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends -- and winning.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sons, Michael (Sob) Ford and Danian (Timmy) Short; his Parents Kerry and Ann Posey; three sisters, Sherry Posey (Rodney Pearson); Antionette Simms (David); Alicia Boampong (Mike); God parents, Debra and Frank Dunnington and his devoted friend, Tosha Mines. He also leaves a host of aunts and one Uncle, Francis Maddox, cousins, nieces nephews and a multitude of friends.
