IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clifton Lowell
Butler
July 10, 1965 – June 26, 2020
Clifton Lowell Butler (Age 54) of Baltimore, Maryland
Clifton, affectionately known as Clif, peacefully transitioned into eternal peace on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He traded his earthly clothing for his Heavenly robe. He was so strong, but he was ready. He had loved ones standing by his side, holding his hand, and speaking words of love to him the whole time – he knew he was loved!
He began his General Services Administration (GSA) career on May 27, 1984 and quickly embraced this place as his first working environment that he called family – GSA Family. He spent many years on the clock and off with those family members and held truly fond moments and memories with many. He was a Senior Program Analyst with the Program Support Team. Information Technology (IT) was his love, he shared his skills across the board. If you asked, he would have answered.
In 1998 he surrendered and entered Baltimore's Behavior Health Substance Abuse Program where he learned to live his life without the use of drugs and alcohol. He would have celebrated 22 years of sobriety this August. Clif moved to Baltimore in July 2000. A move which changed his life for the better. His brother Sam and family, made sure he had what he needed to thrive in his new city. His story also brought him to find a new church family that welcomed him with open arms. Clif joined the Unity Fellowship Movement – was ordained Deacon in 2006 and Minister in 2018. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees, Voices of Life Choir, Men's Ensemble, Chairman of Deacon Board and Co-Chair of Men's Ministry and he was currently in training and preparation for the next level of ministry. He was always available to assist where needed and was affectionately known as "Superman."
He is proceeded in death by his father James; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Butler; maternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Briscoe and many aunts, uncles, cousins, Godmother, Marie, and friends.
Clif leaves to cherish his life story and memories: His mother, Theresa, brothers, Charles (Cathy), Sam (Vivian); sister, Maxine (Christopher); and sister (and twin for exactly one week) Caroline; nephews, James (Luwhan), Andrew, and Sam, Jr., and Nicholas Brown; nieces, Latoya (Taaron), LaBria and Tishauna; great-nieces, Deazya and Ariana; great-nephews, Jeremiah and Javontaye; aunts, Alma, Peggy (Bruce), Thelma, Agnes, and Mary; uncles, Charles (Theresa), James and Joseph (Ann), his beloved friend Keith, fur-babies, Otto and Dolce, and a host of cousins, friends, and UFC family members.
