Ms. Clarencine Vonice Benoit (Age 65) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Clarencine Vonice Benoit, age 65, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was born December 21, 1951 in New York to the late Clarence and the late Evelyn Howard. Clarencine, or, Clare, as she was sometimes known, departed this life on April 6, 2017 at her residence.
Clarencine resided in New York during the early years of her life. She attended Dominican Commercial High School and continued her education at Queens College in New York. While living in New York, she was employed as a Speech Therapist for the school system. In 1986, she moved to Maryland and continued her career as a Speech Therapist in the Prince George's County public school system. Later, she continued her education and received a Master's Degree in Special Education. She retired from Oxon Hill Middle School, Oxon Hill, Maryland.
In 1973, Clarencine married Lloyd Benoit and the marriage ended in divorce. From that union one son, Vaughn Elliot Benoit, was born. Vaughn was a devoted caregiver to his mom during her prolonged illness and never wavered under pressure while maintaining a full-time career in the Prince George's County school system.
In addition to her parents, Clarencine was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Anthony Howard and sister, Carol Lorraine Della Vecchia. She is survived by her son Vaughn, brother, Hermie Corns (Monya) of Fort Collins, Colorado, one special friend, Denise Dubose of Baltimore, Maryland, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.
