IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher Gene
Dixon
March 30, 1969 – October 3, 2021
Dixon, Christopher Gene (Age 52) of Laurel, Maryland
Mr. Christopher Gene "Chris" Dixon of Laurel, MD departed this life on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was born on March 30,1969 in Washington, DC. Chris was the son of the late Wilbert Dixon, Jr. and Rosa L. Dixon of Laurel, MD who he affectionately called "Queen." He was the youngest of four children and had one sister and two brothers.
Chris attended public schools in Washington DC and Maryland. He earned an Associates of Science Degree from the University of the District of Columbia. For many years he was employed as a Certified Credit Collections Specialist. He also completed professional Barber training and worked as a barber for a few years preceding his death.
He embraced his Christian faith as a young man, but later for many years was a self-proclaimed Muslim. It was in recent months that Chris began his journey back to his Christian faith. Though he was not openly demonstrative or openly professed Salvation, he fought to cling to the Christian teachings and faith of his youth.
Chris was multi-faceted and had many dimensions. One could not have met him and forget the encounter. He had a unique way of making you feel special. Chris ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIS FAMILY AND HIS FAMILY ABSOLUTELY LOVED HIM. He had a brilliant mind and was very articulate. He was an avid reader and student of knowledge. Chris was a mastermind at mental math (no finger-counting or calculator for him). He played chess and enjoyed watching the NFL. The Washington Football Team formerly known as the Washington Redskins was his favorite team. Chris also made friends quite easily and was very persuasive and charismatic; and had a nickname for just about everyone.
Our Chris leaves to honor and cherish precious memories his mother, Rosa L. Dixon of Laurel, MD; sister, Freda D. Callaway of Laurel, MD; brothers: Joe A. Dixon of Severn, MD and Clarence E. Dixon (Melissa) of Bowie, MD; son, Dimitri D. Dixon of Frederick, MD and daughter, Dayanna Robb of Glenn Dale, MD; a host of aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins (many of whom he referred to as his sisters and brothers), other relatives and special friends.
