Savoy, Christine Antoinette (Age 53) of Hughesville, Maryland
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Christine Antoinette Savoy of Hughesville, Maryland quietly entered eternity while at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She was a loving mother, fiance, sister, aunt, and friend.
Christine Antoinette Farrow Savoy was born on May 16, 1971, in Washington, DC, to Sidney James Farrow, Sr. and Delorse McClinton. Raised by Sidney and her bonus mom, Bernadine Morgan, Christine grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland, where she attended Potomac Senior High School. Christine relocated to Hillsborough, North Carolina, during her senior year, graduating from Orange High School in 1989. She continued her education, earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master's in Human Resources from Strayer University.
She married her high school sweetheart, Maurice Savoy, and they welcomed their cherished son, Joshua Savoy. Though life took them in different directions, Christine and Maurice eventually reunited. Her love and support for her family were unwavering, and she was immensely proud of Joshua for discovering his passion for computers.
Christine dedicated her life to education, teaching Computer Science to Pre-K to 8th-grade students. She served in schools across Osceola and Pinellas Counties in Florida and the District of Columbia Public School System. A trailblazer in technology education, Christine tirelessly worked to level the playing field for underserved children, inspiring her students to see technology as a gateway to limitless opportunities. Her generosity extended beyond the classroom, often helping her friends and family navigate technological challenges with patience and enthusiasm.
Chris lived by the mantra, "Life is an adventure." She was kind, free-spirited, loved to travel and experience the finer things in life, including good food and breathtaking sights. Adorned with flowers in her hair, vibrant head wraps, and distinctive jewelry, Christine's colorful style reflected her zest for life. Known affectionately as "Christie Love," she brought positivity to every situation and inspired everyone she encountered to live boldly and authentically. Christine will be remembered as a devoted mother, visionary educator, and radiant soul whose life embodied love, resilience, and boundless optimism. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the countless lives she touched.
After a brief illness, Christine transitioned on December 14, 2024, at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Her nephew, Brice Lewis, preceded her in death.
