Chilton R. Reid, more affectionately known as "Nick," was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 13, 1945 to Wilbert Kennedy Reid and Jessie May Reid.
Nick grew up in Cincinnati, attended Taft High School, and graduated in 1963. Nick was raised Baptist, and attended the Southern Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Chilton Robert Turner, Jr. and Melissa Lynnette Turner, were born to Nick and Dorothy L. Turner (Lear).
Nick was a professor of Psychology/Sociology at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. He was employed by and retired from the District of Columbia Public Schools, Department of Special Education. He also provided individual counseling in the District of Columbia.
One of Nick's favorite sayings was: "Spiritual matters don't make intellectual sense."
Left to cherish many memories are his two children, Chilton Robert Turner, Jr. (Robbie) and Melissa Lynnette Turner; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, (with twin boys on the way) two sisters, Alice Mae Flowers (Frank) and Jo Anne Evans (Michael) a host of nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, students, and a loving and devoted friend, Raylynn White.
"Don't cry for me, don't shed a tear, the love that we shared will always be and when I'm gone, please carry on, Don't cry for me."
Visitation, 10am until time of Service, 12 noon, Monday, October 17, 2011 at Church of the Great Commission, 5055 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, Maryland 20746. Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, 2219 Lincoln Road, N.E. Washington, D.C. 20002
