WARREN, CHESTER (AGE 79) OF INDIAN HEAD, MD

On Thursday, May 23, 2013, Chester Warren, affectionately known as "Chest," quietly departed this life for one eternal at Civista Hospital in LaPlata, Maryland. He was born May 6, 1934 to the late Charles and the late Laura Jackson Warren.
Chester was a lifelong resident of Charles County, Maryland. He was educated in the Charles County public school system. Chester married Inez Montgomery February 13, 1958, and from their union two sons were born, Larry and David Warren. Chester and Inez were not only united in marriage, but even in death they shared the same death date, Inez entered eternal life May 23, 2009 and Chester entered his just four years later on May 23, 2013.
He worked at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, Maryland and retired after 36 years of service.
Chester enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was known to be in "bed" before 7:00 p.m. every day. His passion was hanging out with buddies and end the day watching the Andy Griffin Show.
He and his brother, Theodore were very close, Chester was the younger of the two but he always acted like the big brother when it came to Theodore. Whenever Theodore needed something, he would say I got to go see my brother "Chester." Chester treasured their relationship.
Chester led a very quiet and peaceful life; he loved being with his friends down Mattawoman engaging in conversation with his buddies and friends. He was a man of few words, but he made sure that you understood "his point."
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Bowman, and three brothers; Mervin, Charles (Hook) Warren, and James Theodore Warren.
Left to cherish his memories are his two sons: Larry (Dorinda) Warren and David Warren, two grandchildren: Troy and Stacy Montgomery, sister, Rosie Carroll (Morris) and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
His viewing will be held 10am until time of Service 11am, Tuesday, May 28th in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD. Interment Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, Pisgah, MD.
