Obituary

CHERYL DENISE COOPER (50) OF DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MARYLAND

The Lord gently whispered in Cheryl's ear, telling her to take His hand and follow Him. On Thursday, June 18, 2020, Cheryl D. Cooper left all her cares, worries, illnesses, and loved ones and went Home.

On September 24, 1969, Cheryl was born to the late Leonard A. Johnson and Barbara J. Johnson (Wilcox) in Washington, D.C. She earned her education in the District of Columbia and Prince George's County School systems and was awarded her High School Diploma from Parkdale High School in 1989.

Throughout her life, Cheryl was a bit of a Jack of All Trades holding a variety of jobs.  As a teenager she worked at Wendy's and Taco Bell.  She later worked as a teller for Money Gram International, Inc., sold insurance, and performed retail at Macy's Inc., before retiring due to her health and becoming a full-time housewife and caregiver to her children.  She eventually re-entered the workforce as a daycare provider with Central Child, Inc.

Before Cheryl left high school in the late 80s, she met her high school sweetheart, Kevin Green, and from that relationship came her first born child, Cherie' Iesha-Monique Johnson.  A few years later, she met, Clint Cooper, Sr., and from that union was blessed with three additional children, Clint Cooper, Jr., Chyna Renee Cooper, and Chanelle Nicole Cooper.

Besides calling her children and driving them crazy! Cheryl liked watching various TV shows, going to plays and movies, road trips and traveling, reading books, playing games on Facebook, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered as a kind and loving person.

Although Cheryl did not have a church home, her life already belonged to Christ.  She fellowshipped at various churches either physically or online.  Cheryl loved sending inspirational passages to people especially when she knew they needed lifting.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory, her Husband, Clint Cooper Sr., children, Cherie Iesha-Monique Johnson (Son-In- Law Joseph Curtis), Clint Cooper, Jr. (Daughter-In-Law Kaitlyn  Cooper), Chyna Renee Cooper, Chanelle Nicole Cooper (Son-In-Law Khalil Beasley), Brother, Darryl Tyrone Johnson (Sister-in-Law Talynthia Johnson), Sister, Tanya Nicole Wilcox, three grandchildren, Zoe Kenise Rich, Kaiden Alexander Cooper, and Cailani Brooke Cooper, Mother-in-Law, Bessie Cooper, Sister-in-Law, Samantha Cooper, Special Friend, Ronnie Wells, and Best Friend Judy Butler. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.  Cheryl is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Jean Wilcox, Father, Leonard A. Johnson, Bonus Father, George R. Wilcox, Jr., and other relatives.
