Charles Edward Price, Sr.

Charles Edward Price Sr., 71, of La Plata, Maryland, who transitioned peacefully on October 18, 2026.

Affectionately known as “Blue,” Charles was born on December 9, 1954, in Leonardtown, Maryland, to the late John Ignatius “Tim” Price and Dorothy Lucille “Ceil” Price.

He was educated in the St. Mary’s County Public School System. He began his career at Woodburn Excavating Company in Leonardtown, MD, before working at Bell Motor Company in Leonardtown, MD, and Cust Maintenance Lawn Service in Accokeek, Maryland. His deep passion for cars led him to Johnny’s Garage in Indian Head, MD, Ford’s Dealership in Indian Head, MD, and ultimately to Prince Frederick Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Prince Frederick, MD. Where he worked until his passing.

Every morning he would warmly say “Let me make the trip across the water.”

In addition to his career, Charles had a lifelong love for drag racing, competing at Budds Creek and other local tracks. He will be fondly remembered for his outspoken and outgoing personality, as well as his readiness to take on any racing challenge. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at Lee’s Market and playing Racetrack.

Charles is survived by his wife Carolin Denise Price; his children, Charles C. Butler, Toni Marie Holly, and Charles Edward Price, Jr.; siblings, John “Igee” Price (and the late Doris Price), Janet Price, (Walker) Eric, Joyce Price, and Florence Price; his grandchildren, Tinisha Winston, Dequan M. Briscoe, Kyisha N. Butler, Ethan Hatton, Emerson (DJ) Hatton, Sie’Anna Hatton, Abegail Turay, and Charles Price III; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas Winston, Trevyn Winston

He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brothers, David Lee Price, William Joseph Price and James Aloysius Price.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, October 27th from 10am until time of service at 11am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment immediately to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
