Obituary

Charles Darnell Hungerford (Donnie) peacefully slipped into eternal rest on Monday, December 7, 2015.

Donnie was born in Washington, DC, on March 24, 1952, the son of the late Charles and Catherine Hungerford. He graduated from Virginia State University in 1974. After college he began working at the Department of Agriculture until he retired with 38 years of service in 2013. In 1977 he married Lorrine Ducusin, with whom he celebrated 37 years.

Donnie was a loyal Washington Redskins fan, and he loved sports, music, and photography.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Charles Edward Hungerford; mother, Catherine Evelyn Hungerford; and two sisters, Alice Bonita and Patricia Lynn.

To cherish his memories, he leaves his wife, Lorrine Ducusin-Hungerford; his brother and sister-in-law, Myron "Mike" and Novia Hungerford; two nieces, Barbara Carter and Brittany Jenifer; aunts, Mary Thomas (William) and Lucille Washington; uncle, James "Bobby" Hungerford (Mildred); and many cherished relatives and friends.

The Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me."
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my love for the Washington Redskins, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
