CHARLES BROWN (AGE 87) OF WASHINGTON, DC.

On December 25, 2019, Charles Brown received his wings. He was born on June 8, 1932 in Washington D.C. to the late Samuel Brown, Sr. and the late Bernice Littlejohn Brown.

Charles received his education in the District of Columbia Public School System. He worked for the DC Sanitation Department and provided dedicated service for over 32 years. As a result, he was awarded with many accolades.

Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and loved attending the Men's Fellowship Unions with First Baptist Church of Ken-gar.

Charles loved people and truly had a joyful and enchanted smile. He treated everyone like family. He was very thoughtful and was always helping family and friends. His home was warm and inviting to all his neighbors and friends.

His favorite hobbies was watching old western movies, listening to music, playing cards, making sweet potato pies, crab cakes and homemade beans.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his son, Charles Brown II, brothers and sisters, Robert, Annie, Samuel II and Frances.

Left to cherish fond memories one sister-in-law, Annie Mae Brown, two grandchildren, Markel Brown and Charles Brown, III, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, Beverly Brown, Mona McKelvin (James), George Jackson (Deborah), Yvette Brown, Anita Hairston, Darryl Hairston (Tina), Tina Jones (Richard), and Wayne Hairston, special cousins, Pat Johnson (Robert), Walter and Paul Gaffney and a host of other relatives and friends.

His Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until time of Service, 11:00 am, Friday, January 3, 2020 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1636 East Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20003.  Interment, National Harmony Memorial Park, 7101 Sheriff Road, Hyattsville, Maryland 20785.
