Cecil Conrad Jordan (Age 87) of Indian Head, Maryland.

Cecil Conrad Jordan, 87, of Indian Head, Maryland departed this life on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Capital Caring Arbor Terrace in Lanham, Maryland. He was the husband of Louise R. (Spriggs) Jordan for 64 years and from this union they have eight children. Born July 16, 1930 in Pomonkey, he was the son of the late Wesley and Estelle Jordan. He was the tenth of twelve children.

Cecil was educated in the Charles County Public School system. He worked for 35 plus years as a construction worker and retired in 1986.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking them on outings and would have his Coleman cooler packed. He was known for playing horseshoes (left handed). Yes, he could show his grandchildren plenty at mini golf. (Tiger Woods had nothing on him). Gardening and tinkering on cars was also a passion of his. In addition to working on other projects, he built his home and garage. He was a dedicated Redskin fan and enjoyed this time with his family.

Cecil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Cecil was readily available to assist anytime day or night. He would not leave you stranded. He would make sure you arrived home safely. He would spend his weekend mornings checking out yard sales to get that one thing.   He was always willing to teach the youngsters a thing or two about cars. He was instrumental in introducing mechanics to the many nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise (Roberta) and their eight children: Curtis, Francine, Carlton, Hilda Riley (Robert), Phyllis Headd (Gary), Elizabeth Robinson (Paul), Louise, Cranston (Pam) and his oldest daughter Agnes "Pat" Washington (Coleman). He has two brothers, Oswald and Earl Jordan and one sister, Edna Livingston, devoted sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

His Viewing will be, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am, Thursday, May 24th in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A.  Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
