Cathy Romaine Gaines (Age 62) of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

On Sunday, July 1, 2018 Cathy Romaine Gaines affectionately called "Romaine" quietly and peacefully departed this life at her home in Nanjemoy, Maryland.

She was born on October 17, 1955 in Nanjemoy, Maryland.  Romaine was the seventh child born to the late Amos and Lucille Lawson Gaines. Romaine had five sisters and eight brothers.  She attended Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head, Maryland.  Romaine worked various jobs throughout Charles County.

Romaine lived an abundant life, full of joy and happiness.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often being the life of the party.  She will be missed by many friends and relatives who cared and loved her. She will forever be in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Romaine preceded in death by her brothers, William, Randel and Chris; her sisters Lavern Washington and Paula Swann.

She leaves to cherish special memories, her daughter, Erica and son Jason, sisters Adelaide Proctor, Juanita Jones and Ethel Johnson, brothers, Amos Jr., Roland, Jerome, Scott and Mark Gaines. Three grandchildren, Rodney and Ricardo Taylor and Kiyah Gaines, son in law Isaac Prosise and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Saturday July 14, 2018 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at The Oak Grove Missionary Baptist, 11220 Holly Springs Road, Nanjemoy, Maryland 20662.
