IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carrie Louise
Prince
August 10, 1941 – September 9, 2025
Carrie Louise Prince, 84, of Clinton Maryland.
A Life Well-Lived
Carrie Louise Prince was called home to God's Kingdome on September 9, 2025.
Carrie was born on August 10, 1941, to James Jenifer and Catherine Jenifer in Newport, Maryland. She grew up in La Plata, Maryland and was educated in Charles County Public Schools.
Carrie relocated to Washington DC in the late 1960's. After working various jobs to acquire useful and beneficial skills, like folding clothes, sewing and cooking, she finally found her work home at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After working various positions at NIH, she retired as manager of the sterile supply department.
Carrie dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was an excellent mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother. In addition to raising her own four children, she would often keep her nieces and nephews for the summer break. She encouraged a few of her sisters to move to Washington DC where they thrived and raised their families.
It was in Washington DC where she met and married John Prince. Together they created a loving and peaceful sanctuary for their blended family. They lived in holy matrimony until his untimely death in April 2008.
There was nothing Carrie could not cook, sew, crochet, or create. She had a natural talent that was unmatched. She was meticulous and took pride in her appearance, her crafts and her family. Helping family, friends, and especially the elderly, gave her heart so much joy. It was one of her many passions, and it showed.
She will be severely missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Catherine Jenifer; Siblings, Eleanore Parris, Shirley Jenifer, Mary Cole, Ann Coleman, Agnes Rosier, John Jenifer, Frank Jenifer, William Jenifer, and Francis Jenifer.
Left to cherish the memories of her life and carry on her legacy are her children, Calvin Wood, Malinda Wood (daughter in law), Anthony Wood, Unice Bulter, and Paul Wood Jr.; Bonus Children, Renee, Janice, Melvin and Brian; Sisters, Helen Drummond, Grace Jones, and Catherine Lyles; Brothers, Paul Jenifer and Tommy Jenifer; Brothers-in-law, Wayne Prince and Jimmy Prince.
