Carolyn R. Johnson peacefully passed away January 16, 2021.
Daughter of the late Iretha & Milton Marshall was born on Oct 27th, 1954 in Washington, Dc.
Carolyn met her late husband Larry and was married on May 18th, 1974. From that union they were blessed with two children, Carla, and Larry Jr.
She was educated in PG County Public schools. She graduated from friendly high school in 1972 she started in the government right out of high school, after one and a half years at HEW. She started working at the small business Administration after 38 years of service she retired from SBA in 2011. Carolyn has been a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1986 on January 20, 2013 she was baptized through immersion and was joyful of her new beginnings.
Carolyn loved her family her daughter, son, her granddaughters, sisters, great grandsons, she enjoyed her church family and enjoyed bingo nights with her sister-in-law Doris Dyson She also loved dancing, singing, listening to her oldies but goodies, puzzle book, soaps daytime and nighttime, bingo , yard work and just being outdoors.
Preceded in death is her husband Larry Sr., both parents Iretha & Milton Marshall, sisters Diane Marshall, Drewdon Simmons, Patricia Myers, Eloise Bowman, Marlyn Payne and Gloria Myers and Brothers Milton Marshall Jr and Donald Bowman.
Leaves to cherish memories of her, daughter Carla and her son Larry Jr (Jay)
Four granddaughters Shawnia Graham, Shanelle Marini (Steven Marini Sr), Shaniece Johnson and Tonyae Lyles. Two great grandsons Steven Marini Jr and Devin Marini. Three sisters Sharon Marshall, Iretha Erwin and Jean Mitchell (Earl) and Sister-in-law Doris Dyson God children Eric Dyson and Keisha Hall. And a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 10am until time of service 11am at Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.
