Obituary

Carolyn Ann Edwards passed away on June 25, 2018, after a valiant fight against cancer.

She was born to John A. Brown (deceased) and Margaret Mingo Brown in Washington, DC on November 7, 1971.

She attended the Academy of Notre Dame and University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where she made everlasting friends. After college, she returned to Washington, DC, where she worked in the marketing department for Giant. While at Giant, she met her life partner, Dale Edwards. They had a whirlwind courtship and married in Jamaica on September 17, 1999. Their family was made complete with the births of Dale Jr. and Dante. Carolyn embraced her role as wife and mother, and always put her family first.

Carolyn was a devoted auntie and second mother to her special nieces, Kym and Ja'Nae. She was also the "neighborhood mom", where she took care of kids after school. She was active in her sons' education, serving as a volunteer and PTA President. Everybody loved her spirit and willingness to always help others.

Once her kids were older, Carolyn returned to the workforce as a beauty consultant at Macy's. Many would come to Macy's just to see her big beautiful smile and get her beauty tips and advice.

One of Carolyn's favorite hobbies was scrapbooking. It was an opportunity to spend time with friends creating fabulous books capturing her life, her sons' many accomplishments, and travel with family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, handsome sons, supportive mother, sister, nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and other family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 8th at 3:00pm at Claggett Park.  Claggett Park is located at the intersection of Bridle Ridge Rd and Dappled Grey Way.
