BLAKE, BEATRICE AGNES (AGE 90) OF FORT WASHINGTON, MARYLAND
On May 7, 1926, Beatrice Agnes Flemming (Blake) was born to the late Elizabeth and the late Paul Flemming in McConchie, Maryland. Her father would be one of the greatest influences in Beatrice's life.
"Bea," as she was affectionately known, was raised in Charles County, Maryland where she met Levi Blake, her future husband.
Bea was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, Fort Washington (previously Chapel Hill), Maryland. She was also a member of the Chapel Hill Citizens Association. Even at the age of 90, she was still a fan of the Washington Redskins Football team and also enjoyed watching wrestling.
Bea is easily described by her family as a loving, kind, compassionate and sassy lady who was filled with joy. She was admired for her independence, strong will and concern for others. On occasion she would dispense words of wisdom; perhaps something she heard while listening to her favorite radio station, W.P.F.W.
She was a home maker by trade, which meant she worked very hard keeping her home in order and raising her children. She was especially proud of her children finishing school and any other accomplishment they achieved. Family was important to Bea and she loved the cookouts they would have and other family functions. From her younger years, she continued to enjoy dancing.
Most of all, Bea would want her family and friends to remember that she always told it like it was (or for them, to "tell it like it is").
On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, while at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., Beatrice Agnes Blake transitioned to eternal life.
In addition to her parents, she joins in glory sisters, Florence and Louise, brothers, Frances and Paul, daughter-in-law, Lorraine, and honorary children Raymond, Joe and Eugene.
