Barbara Ellen (McDonald) Taylor, 75 of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Barbara Ellen McDonald was born, August 15, 1944 to Helen and Thomas McDonald.

She transitioned to eternal life Monday, March 2, 2020, joining in Heaven her husband Raymond, son Carl, mother Helen, sister Beverly, son-in-law Ben, grandmother Alice, nephew Willie and other family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her children: Kelly, Kimberly (Mark), Denise and Kristi; grandchildren: Shannon, Anthony, Aaron, Alisa, Eric, Sierra, Shyanne and Ashton; great grandchildren: Aliyah, Austin, Avery, Ayden, Saige, Anthony Jr., Sienna, AJ, Ally, Sadie, and Silas; nieces: Candice, Helen and Tara; nephew: Michael; great nieces: Lexy and Destiny and great-great niece, Celia (Destiny's daughter).

Barbara was raised on a farm in Camp Springs, Maryland. From ages 7-18, she played softball for the Clinton Boys and Girls Club and also enjoyed Duckpin and Tenpin Bowling.

She graduated from Surrattsville High School in 1962. This was the same year she met her future husband at Brown's Inn in Waldorf, Maryland. On June 8, 1963 she became Barbara Ellen Taylor when she married Raymond Z. Taylor. They had four daughters and adopted a son. Barbara was married to Raymond for 47 years before he passed in 2011. Barbara always said her favorite thing to do was to go fishing with her husband in Deep Creek Lake.

Barbara worked for NASA, two different law firms, two alcohol and drug treatment programs, 7-11 and Southern Maryland Hospital, retiring in 2011. In her later years she enjoyed watching game shows, Criminal Minds, The Voice and collecting commemorative magazines.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until time of Service, 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland, 20640.  Interment, Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
