IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Bolden
December 7, 1943 – March 10, 2025
Barbara Ann Bolden, age 81 of Lanham, Maryland
Barbara Ann Bolden was born to Reed Augusta and Eunice Alverta Bolden on December 7, 1943, in Brandywine, Maryland. Barbara was the fourth of thirteen children born to Reed and Eunice.
Barbara was educated in the Prince George's County school system. After graduating high school, she worked for the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, Maryland, and the U.S. Census Bureau in Suitland, Maryland, where she retired after 30+ years of service. After retirement, Barbara began a career in retail services. She was employed by Montgomery Ward for several years and retired from Sears Roebuck & Company after many years of service.
Barbara was the proud and devoted mother of Jerri Lynn Bolden Anderson and the loving grandmother of Kristen and Charles Anderson Jr. (CJ). She loved her family and looked forward to attending all family functions. Barbara had a God-given talent for drawing pictures, and in her free time, she would take her artist pencils and draw beautiful portraits, especially of her loved ones. She also had a talent for sewing. She made many nice outfits, including a beautiful prom dress for Jerri Lynn.
At a young age, Barbara gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was a dedicated member of the National Church of God and Victory Christian Ministries International until her health began to decline. Although she was not able to attend church in person, she spent hours reading and listening to the word. She was a quiet, peaceful, and loving individual with a strong personality.
On March 10th, Barbara peacefully transitioned to eternal rest at the Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, Maryland.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Eunice; brothers, Reed Anderson, Harry, and Donald; and sisters, Leatrice and Virginia, and her little dog Bella.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: daughter, Jerri Lynn Bolden Anderson; granddaughter, Kristen Anderson, grandson, CJ, brother, Rodney Bolden (Barbaranette); sisters, Shirley Onley, Brenda Talley (Otis, Jr.), Yvette Chase (Lee), Mary "Judy" Brown (Sheldon), Renee Pruitt (Terry), Faith Shelton (Ross) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barbara Ann Bolden will be greatly missed, and the family is honored that we were privileged to enjoy life with her for 81 years.
