Obituary

Arthur Pernell Branch, 54 of Lexington Park, Maryland.

Arthur Pernell Branch was born on September 03, 1970 in New Bern, North Carolina to the late Arthur Branch (deceased) and Helen Williams. He departed this life on March 09, 2025 at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Rossville, MD.

Arthur, affectionately known as "Art' comes from a big family, where he has fifteen (15) aunts, three (3) uncles, and (8) eight siblings. Art was educated in Lenior County Public School System. He has always been smart and inquisitive and graduated from high school in the top 10% of his class. He had a passion for computer programming and is a savvy electronics technician. Art left Kinston, NC at the age of 17 and moved to Virginia Beach where he enrolled in ECPI and received an associate degree in computer electronics. In 1989, he started off as a technician at Xerox, he worked his way through the ranks where he was a highly respected service manager. While at Xerox, Art received his Bachelors in Business and a Masters in Finance, strengthening his managerial status within the company. Arthur finished his career as the Assistant Controller for the Mid-Atlantic Operations where he led Lean Six Sigma projects to make underperforming operations profitable. Prior to his retirement in 2016, and after 27 years of service, Arthur finished his career with Xerox by being awarded a Presidential Coin from President George W. Bush for his work during the IMF meetings in Washington DC.

In 2000, Arthur joined Sidney Mudd Elks Lodge #748 where he held several positions to include Esteemed Leading Knight, Esteemed Lecturing Knight, and Trustee. Throughout his 25 years as an Elk, he takes pride in knowing the books of Elkdom and obtained his Past State Presidents and Past Grand Exalted Rulers honors. He excelled and became a Grand District Deputy, he is

the current Director of the District of Southern Maryland's Education Department, and Chief Antler of Past Exalted Rulers Council #59. Additionally, he is a member of numerous departments in the Tri-State Association and on the National level.

On May 27, 2007, Arthur was joined in matrimony to Carolyn Conway at Christian Family Baptist Church in LaPlata, MD. As a result of the union, the couple had one son, Thomas Carnell Branch. Thomas has two older sisters, Sade Marie Walker and Carisma Charmae Forrest. Art accepted Christ in his early twenties and has been a member with Central Baptist Church of Camp Springs for 18 years.

God has truly blessed Art and he leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, children, mother, siblings, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a whole host of family and friends.

It is a known fact that one of Art's biggest hobbies is spending time out on the water. He is the captain and sole proprietor of the Helen Marie II. He is a strong family man who cherishes his soul mate of 18 years, Carolyn, and his three beautiful/handsome children, Sade, Carisma, and Thomas. Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not express his loyalty to the six-time Superbowl Champions and the number one football team in the National Football League, The Pittsburgh Steelers.
