CLAGGETT, ANTHONY GUSTINE (AGE 90) OF WALDORF, MD

Anthony Gustine Claggett was born on May 31, 1924 in Piscataway, MD to the late Joseph and the late Edna Middleton Claggett. "Amboy," as he was affectionately called by his family, was the second of ten children- Adelle Avent (deceased), Teresa Fox, Joseph "Joe/Brother" Claggett, Margaret Harris, Elizabeth Davis, Edna Mae Brown (deceased), Mary "Tiny" Branson, Charles "Butch" Claggett (Teresa) and Veronica "Conchita" Graham (James).

In addition to his siblings, he is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Lancaster Claggett, their children, Doris Medley (Jerome), Anthony "Steve" Claggett (Diane), and Joseph "Joe" Claggett (Debbie), and goddaughter, Phyllis "Pam" Swann. In addition to his parents, and two sisters, he joins in glory his son, the late Alfred "Sam" Claggett.

Also left to cherish his memory are seven grandchildren, Brian Medley (Debbie), Joy Medley, Joseph Claggett, Jr. (Samantha), Michael Claggett, La Krishna "Krissy" Claggett and Alfred Claggett, Jr., Kinston Ferguson, Jr. as well as eleven great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews whom he spoiled with treats whenever he had the chance.

Visitation will be held from 8am until 10am on Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A. 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Mary's Church, 13401 Piscataway Rd, Clinton, MD 20735. Interment is at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
