Annie Mae Harris, Age 91, of Waldorf, Maryland
Deaconess Annie Mae Mayo Harris was born May 4, 1931 in Brunswick County, Virginia to the late Brother Johnnie and Sister Julia Fisher. She departed this life, surrounded by her family on June 14, 2022 at the University of Maryland, Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, Maryland. Deaconess Annie attended public schools in Brunswick County Virginia at an early age. Throughout her life, Annie enjoyed traveling and raising her children.
Annie was very active in church, serving as an usher and deaconess at Shiloh Baptist Church in New Jersey. While serving at Shiloh, Annie received a plaque for her service and dedication to Christ. Annie also served as a member of The Baptist Ushers Union along side her husband, who served as the President. Annie was recently recognized as the "oldest member serving" at Lighthouse Baptist Church where she attended until her passing at the age of ninety-one years old.
Annie, along with her husband, shared their love for God by conducting Wednesday Night prayer and praise service at the residence with their neighbors. Annie always had a warm and beautiful smile, love for her family and willingness to help others in need. Even in her final days, Annie displayed her love for the entire church family, her Pastor, but most of all, her love for God.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Margaret Mayo and Eddie Mayo, grandchildren, Sean Reynolds, and Marcia Mayo, great grandson, Marques Smith, siblings, Laura Crawley, Adell Brown, James Fisher, Robert Fisher, Willie Lee Fisher, William Douglas Fisher and Emory Fisher.
Annie is survived by her loving husband David Harris, two daughters, Val Mayo, (New Jersey) and Kyle Blake, (Maryland), grandchildren Leigh Blake Mearis, Michael Mayo, great grandchildren, Paris Hardy, Shanti Gettys, Kyle Reynolds, Naiyah Thompson, Isaiah Mayo, Sabria Mayo, Asia Addison, ten great-great grandchildren, Jachari, Everly, Noah, Maddox, Hendrix, Isabela, Nazir, Noah, Nathan, Neilen, one sister, Mary Elliott, (New York), two sisters-in-law, Ruby Fisher, (Virginia) and Katherine Fisher, (Philadelphia) she also survived by the children of her husband David Harris, Dorenda, David Jr., Drew (Cindy), Dwight (Wendy) (all located in Washington State) and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
Her Viewing will be, 10:00 a.m., until time of Service, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3150 Middletown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603. Entombment, Monday, June 27, 2022, Rosemount Memorial Park, 1109 Neck Lane, Elizabeth, NJ 07201.
