After about 10 years, she joined the Washington Hilton where she worked in their restaurant. Annie was a dedicated and hard worker that took advantage of all the benefits that the Hilton offered to their employees. She worked her way thru the ranks up to Banquet Captain. This role placed her in charge of as many as 400 servers during any given function. Annie was known for always going above and beyond to make sure the hotel exceeded the expectation of their clients. She has received many awards over the years with her most memorable being the 2005 Hilton Employee of the Year.
On the hot summer day of August 30, 1985, Annie married the love of her life James (Jimmy) Barbour after many years of courtship. Annie and Jimmy continued their blissful relationship with a 30-year marriage. Together they raised their niece Stephanie (Janie) Hutchins.
Annie was an avid traveler having visited such exotic places as Alaska, Hawaii and several Islands in the Caribbean. She enjoyed watching the Redskins and Nationals and in the old days enjoyed attending local Sunday baseball games in Charles County. Always one to like a hotrod, Annie regularly upgraded to the latest model of Mustang in her early years.
