WARREN, ANNABELLE (AGE 101) OF NANJEMOY, MARYLAND
On Thursday, January 28, 2021, Annabelle Warren quietly transitioned into eternal life at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, Maryland.
Annabelle Warren was born on March 18, 1919 in Nanjemoy, Maryland to the late Irene Richardson Gutrick and Robert Gutrick.
Annabelle was a very hard and dedicated domestic worker. She also along with her husband Isaiah ran and operated a business establishment. She helped with raising and caring for many families in which she formed a very close bond. This bond continued throughout her life.
Annabelle was baptized at an early age at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. George Carter. She was a faithful member, Sunday School and Bible Student and was appointed as the Mother of the Church. She enjoyed attending Church services and loved good preaching and singing, and would talk about it all week.
Annabelle loved people and would go out of her way to speak to everyone. She had so many wonderful, loving and caring friends, some who referred to her as another mother because of her wisdom, love, listening ear and compassion that she always shared. Annabelle loved fishing, family gatherings, spending time with her many friends and she especially enjoyed her annual Christmas Celebration.
In additional to her parents, Robert and Irene Gutrick, she was preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah Warren; grandson Cornelius Warren; sister, Effie Dorsey; niece, Irene Savoy; and son-in-law, Samuel F. Cobey.
Annabelle leaves to cherish her memory five generations; one daughter, Laura Cobey; one son, Isaiah Warren, Jr. (Mary); one adopted son, John Warren, Jr. (Thelma); twelve grandchildren, Rev. Gwen Warren-Washington (Rufus), Sandra Cobey-Hatton (Stanley), Rhonda Cobey-Gassaway (Brian), Wanda Tibbs (Earnest), Gina Dunnington (Paul), Cathy Chase (Troy), Franklin Warren (Tara), Cheryl Cobey-Smith (Dwayne), Stacey Johnson (Patrick), Sherwin Warren (Tisha), Robert Warren (Yolanda), and Derrick Cobey; two nephews, John Warren, Jr. (Thelma) and James 'Man' Dorsey, Jr. (Vivian); three nieces, Betty-Ann Milstead, Anna-Mae Craig and Emma-Jean Payton (William); twenty-eight great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
