Williams, Ann Marie (Age 64) of Washington, D.C.
Ann Marie Williams of Washington, DC, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at her home on Taussig Place, NE in Washington, DC. She was 64 years old.
Born in Pomonkey, Maryland on February 19, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Louis Xavier Williams and the late Rose Lee Hall-Thomas. She was a native of Charles County Maryland before moving to Washington, DC, shortly after graduating from Pomonkey High School in 1966.
Ann was an employee of the Federal Government for more than forty (40) years before ending her service with the Department of the Army.
Ann's hobby was bowling and she enjoyed the friendships she developed in her bowling league. She was pretty good at the game and earned citations for bowling scores exceeding 200. She was an avid reader and enjoyed novels and short stories. She loved music and accumulated recordings in various categories.
Ann was basically a quiet, kind person, with a good sense of humor. She greeted everyone with a warm heart and a beautiful smile that will be remembered by family and friends. She loved mentoring her nieces and nephews, and showed her love by remembering them on special occasions.
Ann is survived by 7 sisters and 3 brothers; Francis Thomas, Mary Thomas, Patricia Smith, Alice Madison, Barbara Young, Gladys Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Wanda Thomas, Iris Rogers, and Glenn Thomas. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews,aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.
Her viewing will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 10am until time of service 11am, at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
