IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrea Yvett
Cole
October 26, 1971 – November 14, 2017
On November 14 th , 2017 God extended his almighty arms of love and gently took Andrea Yvett Cole home to Glory. Andrea was born October 26 th , 1971 at LaPlata General Hospital, to Herbert L. and Theresa E. Cole. She received her education in the Charles County Public School system, graduating from LaPlata Senior High School in 1988. Andrea was baptized as a baby in the Catholic faith and received her 1 st Holy Communion and confirmation as a child at Holy Ghost Church. Though she relocated to Prince Georges County she continued to walk in her faith and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Andrea followed in her mother and big sisters steps and started her work career at Beretta in Accokeek, MD. After that she spent several years as Special Police officer for Admiral Security at the SW Waterfront Complex. Andrea love for work allowed her to grow in many directions throughout her career. Through her love for people and her tenacity for being a social butterfly she landed a job as shipping and transfers representative with ABC roofing and supply. This position showed Andrea's strengths in administrative work and at that point there was no turning back. Andrea secured a position at Brinks Armored as a Human Resources/Payroll Representative and LOVED every minute of it until her illness forced her to stop working.
Though Andrea was diagnosed with Breast Cancer she never gave up hope or her fight against it and was determined to continue to live and enjoy her life on her terms. She stayed on top of every aspect of her illness and would give all of her medical staff a run for their money and if you knew Andrea you'd know she was a firecracker. Andrea loved to go to the Bingo, play cards and go to the casinos. She and her fiancé Tony would take an annual trip to Atlantic City for the entire week around July 4 th and nothing would stop this trip and I do mean NOTHING! Andrea was the center of her Bingo/Casino circle which included her big sister Wanda, her mother Theresa, her Aunts Annie White, Mary Knott, Wanda Knott her friend Jean Minick and her fiancé Tony Rich. You could find them just about any day of the week on an escapade. Andrea also had an incredible love for Crabs. Often you could find her and her Uncle Gerald arguing on whose turn it was to buy the crabs. He'd usually win but she still enjoyed arguing with him about it for sport as she knew she was already going to buy them.
Andrea had an incredible spirit about her and when you heard "it's gonna be smoke in the city" you knew she was about to get into something. Andrea had so many special people in her life. But most of all her daughter Briana Johnson aka Bink was her most prized joy. Though there were ups and downs as it is raising kids it was only because Briana is most definitely her mother's daughter and has that same strong personality and spirit. Andrea had her special crew who were like sisters to her, Melinda Wells Yates, her cousin Phyllis Hill (Lee Lee) and her Best Friend of many years Cecelia Young (Cee Cee).
Andrea leaves to cherish her memories; her beloved daughter Briana Markesa Johnson, Fiancé; Tony Rich, Parents; Herbert L. and Theresa E. Cole, Mother-in-law; Barbara Rich, Sisters; Wanda M.
