Lindsey, Alnita "Nit Nit" (Age 66) of Waldorf, Maryland

Alnita "Nit Nit" Lindsey was born January 17, 1955 in West Philadelphia.  She departed this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.  She was the daughter of the late William Alvin Turner and the late Juanita Wimbish Turner.

She received her elementary education in Philadelphia and continued her high school education at Sayre Jr. High in Philadelphia.  During high school, she was a part of the Senior Activities Committee.  Having an ambition to become a doctor, Alnita continued her education at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

During her time at Howard, Alnita began dating Arnold Lindsey who she eventually married.  They raised eight children together, Alonzo, Aroun (Olayemi), Arnell, Alkia, Aoka (Antoinette), Alicia, Ayana and Arlo.

Alnita was known as a shopping queen and had a great love for animals.  She was hardworking and worked as a dialysis nurse for many years.  Alnita was a caring individual who helped anyone in need.  Being the matriarch of a big family, she enjoyed spending time with family, hosting events and celebrating the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

Alnita leaves behind to cherish her memories, four daughters, four sons, 21 grandchildren:  Divine, Kaiya, Duane, Jahi, Najjah, Malik, Jalani, Asia, Kyree, Arnell Jr., Brandi, Amani, Kamari, Aroun Jr., Derrick Jr., Jalyn, Amar, Ahnah, Kaila, Adrien and Andrews, one great granddaughter, Cora; three sisters, Chenise Turner, Renita Hampton, and Denise Thompkins; two brothers, Alphonso and William Turner; seven aunts, Sadie, Chyann, Florence, Lonnie Mae, Delores, Hattie and Janice; four uncles, Edmond, James, Floyd and Paul and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held from 10am until time of service 11am, Friday, July 30 ^th , Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
