Allen Webster Bell, 77 of Accokeek, Maryland.

~ Obituary ~

Allen Webster Bell was born on October 22, 1941 at Suburban Hospital in Rockville, Maryland to the late Linward and Sadie Della Bell.  Allen was the fourth child of five siblings born to this union.  He was fondly called "Buddy".  Allen loved fishing and dancing and when he and his beautiful wife Gwen danced, their smooth dance moves could rival Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, hand dancing was his favorite.  Allen was an avid card player, worked extremely hard and was meticulous when it came to lawn care for everyone.  Allen was a very proud man who loved his family and he was a strong father figure for his family.  He dedicated his life to God at an early age.  He attended Montgomery County Schools and graduated from Carver School in 1959.  Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.  After retiring from the Army, he held several jobs.  His major career was in law enforcement beginning with the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department for 21 years and he retired in 1988.  Allen went on to work for other security companies, such as Costal Security DEA, Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Allen and Gwendolyn Mae Hinton were united in marriage in 1982.  Allen is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Bell. Together they had seven children, Evans Ray, Jr. III (DeShonne), Darlene P. Ray, Donna Y. Alexander (Garth), Derek A. Bell (Toni), Mark A. Ray (Charae), and Nicole R. Bethea (Joseph).  Preceded in death by Kimberly J. Belt (Ronald).  He also leaves to mourn one brother, Adville A. Bell (Gwendolyn); his sisters, Dorothea Bell and Theda P. Duvall.  Preceded in death by Carolyn Y. Bell and Rhudell T. Savoy.  He also leaves to cherish his memory 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Peacefully, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Fort Washington Medical Center, Fort Washington, Maryland, Allen Bell transitioned to eternal life.
