Alice Faye Shaw of Marbury, MD transitioned November 5, 2023.

The beautiful Alice Faye Shaw entered this world on August 31, 1947. Alice was born to the late James Edward and Alice Lee Swann. Alice went by her middle name Faye and was loved by many family members and friends. She grew up in Marbury, Maryland, and was an avid churchgoer of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church alongside her mother. Faye studied and graduated with her diploma from Lackey High School.

Everyone who knew Faye knew that she loved her girls and family. She enjoyed reading books of different genres, watching all soap operas that aired, and later in life playing Candy Crush. Faye had a sweet tooth at the same time was a very picky eater. She enjoyed working at Ames Department Store for over 20 years before retiring in 2003. Faye took pride in working hard to provide for her family.

Faye is preceded in death by her spouse James Allen Shaw Jr of 52 years; and her brothers Thomas Roger Swann and Michael Dyer.

She leaves behind her brothers James Edward Swann Jr, David Wayne Swann Sr and two sisters-in-law, Mary Yvonne Swann, and Brenda Swann. Her three daughters who adored her: Sharon, Latisha, and Paulette "Cookie" Shaw. She is the grandmother of Catherine Shaw and Ryan Robertson II. She also leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Nova Hawkins, and a host of family and friends.

The sudden passing of Faye has brought heartache and sorrow to those who loved her. She will be genuinely missed.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, November 15th from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640.

Interment immediately to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Marbury, MD.
