Obituary
Albert Charles Eggleston Sr. was born, January 31, 1942 in Washington, D.C. to the late Marguerite and Charles Eggleston. He departed this life on February 12, 2021 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore Maryland.
Albert was joined in matrimony to Joyce Thornton on August 10, 1965 at the Gaskin Memorial Church in Washington D.C. until his death.
He attended Cardozo SHS. Albert worked for DCPS for over 25 years as a Boiler Plant Operation Foreman until his retirement June 3, 2006.
The family wishes to acknowledge Albert's twin brother, Henry Eggleston, his brother, Clarence Eggleston and his sister, Morna Eggleston who preceded him in death.
Albert loved family gatherings, playing his horses, scratching his scratch offs and playing his numbers. He also loved the Washington Redskins.
Albert loved his family and his parties that Pamela Fletcher Stocks would give him every Birthday. He also cherished the love and care he would always get from Carolyn Conway-Branch (Bubbles) along with the gifts. His nephews, Walter Fletcher (Bud), Charles Fletcher (Nanny), Tyrone Conway, Matthew Conway III and his niece, Darlene Fletcher all cared for him and kept him laughing all the time.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, Albert leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Albert C. Eggleston, Jr. and David Johnell Eggleston (Kimberly); sister-in-law, Shirley Fletcher Sumner; two brothers-in-law, Matthew Conway Jr. and Hubert Sumner; grandsons, Albert C. Eggleston III and David Eggleston, Jr. and one great grandson. Additionally, he leaves a devoted niece, Angela Eggleston, one devoted nephew, Henry James Eggleston, Jr., as well as a host of relatives and friends.
