Agnes "Claralee" Hawkins Swann 79, of Charlotte Hall MD entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD.
Born July 17, 1937, in Pomfret MD, Claralee was the daughter of the late William Hawkins and the late Lorise Lyles Hawkins. She was baptized at St Matthews United Methodist Church in La Plata MD. She remained a loyal and dedicated member her entire life.
Claralee received her education in the Charles County Public School System.
Claralee was united in marriage to James Daniel Swann. From this union, they produced 4 sons and 4 daughters.
Claralee was employed by the Charles County Board of Education as a Food Service Worker. She enjoyed her work and she loved the students. She retired after 30 years of service. After her retirement, she enjoyed her leisure time by going on bus trips, hosting family dinners (she was a wonderful cook), cooks outs, dining out and especially her weekly crab feasts. Her kitchen was always open. You could always find a home cooked meal on her stove. Let's not forget her favorite TV shows, The Young and the Restless and Empire.
Claralee was loving, caring and kind. She was devoted to family and friends. She will be also remembered for her spunky attitude.
Claralee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Daniel Swann, Sr.; sisters, Eloise Farmer, Marystone Muschette, Gertrude Wheeler and Henrietta Dorsey; brothers-in-law, Joseph Farmer, John Dorsey and Brooks Muschette, Sr.
Left to cherish many fond memories are her devoted children, James D Swann, Jr., (Sarah), John A Swann (Vanessa), Richard A Swann Sr (Jacqueline), Jerome P Swann, Diane Dade (Clayton), Wanda L Swann, Pam D Hawkins (Steve) and Tracy V Swann (Earl); Twelve grandchildren, Eleven great grandchildren, sister, Lillian Livers, brothers-in-law, George Livers, Sr, and William Wheeler. Three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wells, Dorothy Collins, Laura Farmer and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
