Achsah Carol Jackson, 69, of Washington, DC

Achsah Carol Jackson was born on August 7, 1952 in Washington, DC to Addie B. and Daniel L. Jackson both preceding her in death. "Ash, Carolyn or Carol," as she was affectionately called by family and friends was educated in the D.C. public school system, graduating from Eastern High School, and earning the honors of perfect attendance during her tenure.

Carolyn began her professional career right after high school working at Hecht's and C&P Telephone Company which later became AT&T. Carolyn truly loved her job, even relocating to West Virginia to assist with the smooth transition of the companies many changes when the D.C. location closed; she would later retire after 30 years of dedicated service.

Carolyn was a family person, and she wasn't afraid to show it. She would always greet you with a "Hi Baby, how are you doing" and THE BIGGEST HUG and KISS EEVER! After retirement she moved back to the DMV and resided in Indian Head, Maryland where she was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of "The Woman of Purpose" and "The Flower Club" and volunteering when needed for other church events.

Carolyn was a bonus Mom to all the kids in the family, she loved caring for them and was always just a phone call away…. even the four-legged family members received her love. She loved music and occasionally, you could catch her dancing and singing while cleaning. Carolyn also loved going out to eat and the movies…and when all was calm you could catch her under a tree or curled up in a quiet place with a good book.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Patricia Lyons (Adrian), nephew, Adrian Lyons (Inga), niece, Cristina Lyons, great-nephew, and great niece Adrian III and Angel Lyons.  Carolyn also leaves to mourn, her lifelong partner Paul Ricky Butler, bonus Daughters De'Angelia (Geoff), Courtney, Krissy (Tom), Sons Paul Jr. Petey (proceeded in death) Aaron, Paul T (Michelle), Derek (Rictasha), Sister-in-Love, Annette Coates and movie Buddy Cheryl Robinson and a host of other extended family and friends.

Viewing, 10:00 am, until time of service, 11:00 am, Monday, March 14, 2022 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist church, 5560 Pleasant Grove Rd, Marbury, MD 20658. Interment, Church Cemetery.
